Stewardship and Giving

“Good morning. As a member of our stewardship/planned giving ministry, I am glad to share an opportunity for each of us to plan ahead for the people we love and to build a legacy that carries our faith to the next generation of this parish we love.

The language of estate planning can sound expensive, complicated, and intimidating. And yet, having a plan is one of the greatest gifts you can give to your loved ones. It lifts the burden of uncertainty, and says clearly what you value and why.

August is Make-A-Will Month. Thanks to our Diocese, our community has access to a guided estate planning tool provided by FreeWill.com. FreeWill works with Episcopal parishes and dioceses across the country to help families of all ages and financial situations secure their final wishes in a clear and faithful way.

This week, you will receive an email from us with more information and a link to begin. You will also find a QR code in today’s bulletin if you would like to start right now. Set aside about 20 minutes, and you will be able to make a long-term plan for your assets, protect your loved ones, and, if you wish, create a future gift that supports the ministries of this parish.

Please reach out to any of us with questions or to get started. We want to help. Thank you so much for considering.”

Caring for What God Has Entrusted to Us

Stewardship is a lifelong response to God’s abundance: the care of all that has been entrusted to us, including what we will leave behind. Preparing or updating your estate plan is a practical act of love for your loved ones and a faithful exercise of that stewardship.

This August, several congregations across the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland are observing Make-A-Will Month, joining Episcopalians throughout western, central, and southern Maryland in planning ahead with peace of mind.

Through our partnership with FreeWill, you can create or update your will online, securely and at no cost, in about 20 minutes. In that time you can:

  • Establish a long-term plan for your resources
  • Provide for the children, grandchildren, and loved ones who depend on you
  • Build a legacy that sustains this parish for generations to come

As you use this tool to protect your family, we gently invite you to consider how a legacy gift can sustain the future of our congregation. Naming your parish in your plans costs nothing today, but it helps ensure that worship, formation, and outreach continue to flourish in our Community of Love.
